THE DATU LUBAY CENTER

Datu Lubay Center, Inc. aims to promote culture and arts education as a tool for empowerment and social change. It is envisioned to be the leading center in culture and arts education, arts production and promotion, and cultural research in Antique.

History

Datu Lubay Center, Inc. is founded by writer, cultural worker and theater artist Alex C. Delos Santos, who has been involved in organizing school and community groups, cultural events, and workshops. Backed up by his wide experience in culture and art education, he builds the center to push his own vision as cultural educator. The Center is named after Datu Lubay, the chieftain who – according to the Maragtas – taught the women of Antique to weave. Datu Lubay Center, Inc. is registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission as a non-stock, non-profit corporation, with company registration No. CN200831242.
